Stories from our past
The Society has a raft of archive material going back many years and it is our aim to publish as much as possible on this web site.
If you have documents, photos, etc that you would like to be included in our web pages, please send them to, or contact the Society Secretary, using the contact link included in the web.
Some docs may require you to reposition them or increase the font - just right click or use the tools at the top of the PDF document.

Common Ridings Past
The Society has taken part in every Selkirk Common Riding since 1911 and we are keen to publish as much material as possible covering over 100 years of history.
In this section of our web site we are publishing Common Riding pictures from 1911 onwards.
If you have photographs involving the Colonial Society, particularly for the missing years, please get in touch with the Secretary via the ‘’contact’’ page of this web site. We would be delighted to publish them.
Reproduction of some of the images has been problematic because many images were ''glued'' into the old minute books. Using the PDF facilities however you should be able to move the position of the image and/or increase the font size.
(Note - T B Williamson was appointed CSB but was detained in New York)
